A studio born from a desire to challenge dominant narratives, expose power, give voice to those who are transforming the world, and awaken consciousness through films that unite the 7th art and activism. Koudéta was founded on the conviction that freedom of expression and the power of storytelling can change the world. Our stories engage with the fight for environmental protection, the defense of human rights and fundamental freedoms, and the struggle against racial and social inequalities. We have a particular attachment to narratives rooted in the histories of immigration, slavery, and colonization. At Koudéta, we believe that a film's message is not limited to the cinema screen. That is why we produce films that participate in the broader public conversation, extending them through impact campaigns — and why we have made it our mission to champion the most ambitious and independent voices in art, journalism, and entertainment.
